Privacy Policy

Renta ("Renta", "we", "us") is a Dallas-Fort Worth apartment locating service operated at myrentwise.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to match you with apartments and pay you your move-in reward, we do not sell your personal information, and you can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP.

Information we collect

• Account details. Name, email address, mobile phone number, and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
• Your apartment search. Move-in timing, bedrooms, budget, preferred areas, pets, and must-have amenities, plus apartments you save, notes you write, and tours you plan.
• Messages. When you text with our concierge line, we keep the conversation so we can pick up where you left off.
• Usage data. Pages viewed and product events (for example, completing the quiz or saving a deal), collected through analytics cookies and similar technologies. We also use localStorage to keep drafts and preferences on your device.

How we use it

• Matching you with apartments and ranking deals by real effective rent.
• Sending the deal alerts you signed up for, by text and email.
• Operating our SMS concierge so you can search, save, and book by text.
• Administering the move-in reward, including confirming your lease and move-in.
• Improving the product and preventing fraud and abuse.

The SMS program

With your consent at signup, Renta sends recurring automated marketing and apartment-deal-alert text messages to the number you provide. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not close your account.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Apartment communities, when you ask us to set up a tour or apply, so the property knows you are coming and Renta is registered as your referral source (that registration is what funds your move-in reward).
• Service providers that run the platform for us: hosting and database infrastructure, our customer relationship system, our SMS delivery and AI concierge platform, email delivery, and product analytics. Each processes your data only to provide its service to us.
• Sign-in providers. If you choose Google sign-in, Google shares your name and email with us to create your account.
• Legal requirements, if we are required to by law or to protect our rights or users.

Retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information unless we need to keep a record for legal or accounting reasons (for example, a paid reward).

Your choices and rights

• Reply STOP to any text to stop marketing texts.
• Use the unsubscribe link in any email to stop marketing emails.
• Email us at alerts@myrentwise.com to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Texas residents may also have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act; we honor those requests through the same address.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only as hashes, and access to production data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so use a unique password.

Children

Renta is for renters 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you by email or text.
